My name is Tristan Taylor (RCC #20502), and I believe that our greatest potential is unlocked when our actions align with our purpose.
My journey to becoming a counsellor was driven by a deep fascination with this intersection of performance and meaning. For years, I’ve worked as a counsellor for both youth and adults, including extensive experience within the BC school system. There, I saw firsthand how pressure, anxiety, and the weight of expectation can impact even the most dedicated individuals. I saw the struggle of trying to succeed in a system that doesn’t always align with who you are.
This experience forms the bedrock of my practice today. My approach is active and collaborative, blending a focus on your goals with the depth of my clinical training. My toolkit includes effective, evidence-based practices such as Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This allows us to not only address the “what” and “how” of your goals but also to safely explore the “why” behind your challenges, leading to profound and sustainable growth.
My role is to act as both a guide and a strategic partner on your journey. I provide a supportive, objective perspective to help you uncover blind spots and gain new insights into your patterns. The foundation of our work is a space of unconditional positive regard—a confidential, professional relationship where you can safely explore both your ambitions and your fears.
My practice is virtual, based out of Cranbrook, BC, on the traditional lands of the Ktunaxa people, and I am proud to serve clients across all of British Columbia.
